Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative

The Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) enhances child care affordability for families by offering funding to eligible, licensed child care providers to reduce and stabilize monthly child care fees. Families do not apply. Providers (child care centres and programs) opt in to receive funding when they apply for Child Care Operating Funding from the government.

We are proud to share that we will be applying for CCFRI right away to reduce the rates for families.

You are welcome to access the online CCFRI Estimator Tool to see the impact of the fee reduction. This estimation is not a guarantee of payment and should be used as a guide only.

For example, CCFRI is expected to reduce:

  • 3-5 program monthly fees by $545
  • Infant/toddler program monthly fees by $900

Child Care Benefit

The Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB) is a subsidy to help eligible families with the cost of child care. Factors like income, family size, and type of care determine how much support families may receive. Families need to renew their application every year.

The Affordable Child Care Benefit is an income-based program run by ChildCareBC. The ministry uses your annual income, less deductions, or adjustments, to determine eligibility. Generally speaking, families that earn up to $111,000 may qualify for funding. Families that earn more Updated November 3, 2025 than $111,000 but have considerable deductions for family size or children who have support needs may also apply.

Use the Affordable Child Care Benefit Estimator to see how much funding you may be eligible to receive. This estimation is not a guarantee of payment and should be used as a guide only. It does not consider all individual circumstances.

We are happy to support families with this process.

Please know that becoming a $10 a Day ChildCareBC program is not an easy process. We will continuously monitor the criteria and submit an application every year. We are grateful for your patience and support in the meantime.
