A typical day for your child at Kinderbees centers around a familiar routine coupled with engaging activities and exploration play.

Young children do best when they know what to expect when it comes to day-to-day tasks like meals, hygiene and naps. Repetition and routine help to build a child’s sense of independence and can help ease the transition from home to a group environment. A routine for the class sets up the framework for our day and we add variability through activities, song, books, themes and toys.

We believe in supporting the individuality of the child and understand that each child learns differently. Our goal is to create an environment where all children can thrive. Outdoor play is a big part of our program and the lush, mature grounds of Hamersley House provide a perfect landscape for children to explore and learn from the environment. Outdoor play is important for gross motor development (big muscles!) but we also believe that being outside in fresh air helps us all to maintain a healthy lifestyle and respect for the environment. We spend as much time outside as we can by moving our classroom outdoor and doing everything from art to circle time to picnic lunches in the garden or on the porch every chance we get.

Our centre is equipped with an on-site commercial kitchen where healthy meals and snacks are made. Eating together is a great way for children to develop healthy habits, experience new foods and learn the joy and social benefits of sharing a meal together.

PRE-SCHOOL (3-5 years old)
Our pre-school programs work towards the goal of school readiness by fostering independence in day-to-day tasks. We work with a child’s individual abilities and interest to support their personal development trajectory. Our preschool classrooms are equipped to provide children with a range of learning tools including Montessori materials, puzzles, books, paints and crayons.
